It has been a year since I first wrote a note on minimalism and minimalist #1. It also means that I has been a minimalist for almost a year.
One day, I decided that I would not buy no more clothing in the next two years and I posted it on my facebook. My friend told me that she was following minimalism like me. At that time, I did not know anything about minimalism or minimalists.
Today, while sitting at the bus station, I suddenly wanted to learn more about minimalism. I started to look for the meaning of minimalism and its rules. Then I thought that I should write my journal to remark it.
It was not difficult to find out the definition of minimalism on google however the practice of it was total diversity. In general,  minimalism means simplicity, minimalism in practice is mainly about getting rid of stuffs that you do not use or need, living with minimal stuffs, essential things, as few as possible.
After reading some explanation and benefits of minimalism (mainly from http://www.theminimalists.com/minimalism/ and http://mnmlist.com/minimalist-faqs/), I find it the thing I should follow and try to live.
I am living in the society where people are judged based on their appearance, what they wear, what brand of vehicle they drive/ride, what brand of cell phone they are using, I totally feel sick of this kind of judgement. People around me now become crazy for up-to date electrical things, latest fashionable clothing, etc. They seem to be under pressure to earn money and buying these things. I myself learn that it's not my life style. I want freedom and to be free in living my life. As a result, I decided to become a minimalist.
However, the definitions I learnt on different websites were not right for me, so I define my own minimalism. For me, minimalism not only describes the number of objects you have or live with, but also shows how you can live with your own stuff without buying new things. It means that you have to use up what you have in your hand, you can be creative to be use a stuff in different ways beyond its original function.
Then, at the first step of being a minimalist, I stop buying new clothes in the next 2 years and I will keep writing journal to see how much change I will be.
